Our Mission

One Line Foundation is organized and operated exclusively for charitable and educational purposes in accordance with Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. In particular, One Line Foundation is dedicated to providing financial aid to families of first responders working in San Diego County through educational scholarships, mental and physical health assistance, and memorial funds.

Goal: The goal of One Line Foundation is to become the most rewarding local charity giving back to first responders because of their diligence, heroism, and dedication towards improving the local community. Our Why

There are countless national organizations that do outstanding charitable work for first responders across the country. However, One Line Foundation seeks to create a connection between our neighborhoods and the men and women serving these communities. In addition, the charity strives to acknowledge the daily hardships and obstacles many first responders experience, even when everything “goes right.” One Line Foundation aspires to act proactively and not wait for a tragedy to occur to make a difference. The lifestyle of a first responder can put a taxing strain on family affairs due to many components of the job. The strenuous hours worked, unfavorable schedules, financial burdens, troubling safety concerns, and the unceasing worry of the overall mental and physical well being of a beloved family member are hurdles that surrender to the profession.

First responders are said to hold the “line” between life and death, good and evil. These lines are represented by various emergency service personnel such as:

  • Law Enforcement = Thin Blue Line
  • Fire Departments = Thin Red Line
  • Emergency Medical Technicians = Thin White Line

One Line Foundation upholds the one-team mentality unifying responsibilities, duties, setbacks, hurdles, and goals of all first responders. Our gold line represents the cohesive efforts that keep our communities safe, secure, and functioning. This non-profit charity aims to partner with our local community to be the positive impact on the future and welfare of San Diego, the place we call home.

OUR TEAM

Garrett Trainor
President

As a San Diego native, Garrett Trainor graduated from the School of Business at the University of San Diego making him a first generation college graduate. His studies at The Burnham-Moores Center for Real Estate sparked his interest and career in real estate upon graduation.

Garrett’s innate desire to help others encouraged him to pursue his childhood passion for law enforcement in San Diego County. After becoming immersed in his work as a first responder, he saw firsthand the sacrifices families made in order to work in this field. These men and women surrounding him became his family, and his passion has now evolved to go beyond his career in law enforcement and real estate by giving back to his community. Garrett formed this California non-profit corporation,One-Line Foundation, in order to give residents of San Diego an outlet to acknowledge the work he sees first responders do daily. When Garrett isn’t working towards building his real estate career, and One Line Foundation, he enjoys being outside and trying new restaurants in different parts of San Diego.
